Correct! It's not the bushings! Mine went in pretty tight but they went! Try opening up the hole a little with fine sand paper or something. A little lube might help too. Maybe NH-SS can make a suggestion to that affect?

I see the problem Nylon bushing still in the Shifter thats still in the package??

Sorry could not resist!!

in all seriousness

the new oilite bronze bushings are a tight fit to the shifter, lightly coat with
grease and use a press finish seating them in

I would measure the shifter and the bushing ends and from that you can
determine the difference in size??

I would think it's possible hurst changed the bushing hole size??

I need a set of these bushings. I have been dealing with the slop on my hurst shifter for almost two years now. Are they still available?

I want an acceptable alternative to the teflon bushings. I am willing to take the chance that it might not fit correctly. I on the other hand am willing to take the time to bore them out a little at a time and continuously verify if it fits. I am no mechanic but I do have a lot of patience and am not willing to waste my valuable time one replacing a teflon bushing with another teflon bushing.

I pretty sure a ZL1 shifter is different and these brass bushings will not work . I could be wrong. He made them for the Hurst Billet plus shifter or after market shifter not any OEM GM shifter. That said I have not installed mine yet. (Shitty weather.)

I would have made mine own but for what he is charging I am not wasting my time making them .

I have not even ordered them. I just found them today. I am going to order this weekend and get them in next week.

I for one am not going to take my shifter apart to put another teflon bushing in that will just fail again. I will do what I have to to make the bushings from Phasik work.

NH-SS, any idea when these will be back in stock? I want a set, on my 2nd set of teflon bushings and they are getting loose. I sent you a PM a couple of days ago.

Thanks.

My installer said he had to take off .006 to get pin to fit. I bet thats what they mean by
burnishing Aslo said nice and tight but has not drove it yet thinks may make some noise ?
The nylon one was shot after 2000 miles.

I will get the car back next week with other upgrades and give report.

I added that rubber gasket that Hurst gives you in noise damping kit and some rubber at base of chrome shifter this helped some . Only get a buzz ever so often which I can live with. I am happy with these bronze bushing !
