Paint replace rear bumper?

Anyone else dislike the black plastic bumper on the rear of these cars? I’d like to make it silver to match the car what are my options?

Given the different texture of the plastic bumper how does that usually look, if you have it done professionally?

If you get it painted, they will sand it smooth first. If you don't the paint won't adhere well and will eventually flake off.

Great thank you. Anyone have a picture of one that was painted?

they can also use adhesion promoter (comes in a spray can) then paint it silver.used it with great sucess on my 66 pontiac plastic grills.personally i think it contrasts your silver paint yet ties in with the side stripes...looks good as is.use dishwashing detergent and hit the plastic with some fine grit paper before the adhesion promoter and youre good to go if you decide to paint it.

Nah, I like the back just the way it is. If anything paint your spoiler black.

It’s not really a bumper but, a diffuser. Goes well with GFX, imho. I’d leave it.

I've seen 2 of them with that black valance painted, and to me it looked awkward as heck. Made the back end look huge with everything the same color. The black seems to break up the body line.

^^^^ This. I also have seen a couple of them painted and it makes the back end loot pretty huge!! At one time I was thinking about color matching mine on my 5th gen, until I saw one and didn't like it at all. If anything, like stated above, paint your spoiler gloss black, that will look good and match the lower valence portion.

Honestly I don’t think it looks bad. Better than I thought it would.

Thanks for all the responses. Decided to keep it as is. Don't want my rear end looking huge. lol As for painting the spoiler black I think it would look good, but I think I am just going to keep the body all original. It's a Commemorative Edition.
