disconnecting battery to change a magnaflow exhaust?

Hi,

Do you really need to disconnect the battery to reset the computer when adding a magnaflow exhaust system?

Is it for safety or does computer need to reset for new exhaust flows?

thanks

Both. I'd recommend it just to be on the safe side, though it probably wouldn't be required.

Make sure you disconnect the battery, it's in the instructions for a reason. Once the computer resets, it will adapt to the new exhaust flow.

That or remove fuse #5 and #20 under the hood if you don't want to reset your windows and your radio settings.

Hrm...nice. What about the settings? Such as bass and treble? You know if those were left intact as well?

I thought I saw where you didn't have to pull fuses or battery disconect with the V6's. I thought it was only on the V8's? Is that accurate???
