Gotta love my $50 glass deductible

Haven't used it for the Camaro yet, but used it twice with my previous car.

Yes. Mine cost me about $500 to have it replaced with OEM glass

I'm actually interested in having mine replaced, not because I have chips or anything but I have areas that are distorted to hell on the glass and looking through these areas make the outside look wavy.

I have a tiny rock chip in my windshield with a small crack. It's not in my line of sight, but will be eventually if the crack spreads, which it inevitably will.

My hubby used to work for a mobile glass company which was bought out by Safelite (he refused to work for them, so he went into business for himself after that).

Knowing that, I would be very hesitant to use them. They do a lot of their work over again (leaks, wind noise). Even if you can request OEM factory glass, it's the installation I worry about.

I live in South Louisiana, broken windshields are a way of life. I have mine replaced EVERTIME I get a crack, at Safelite. In my pickups I averaged 2 a year. I have 0 deductable on Comp, so they cost me nothing. My rates have never gone up (for replacing glass).

Talk to your agent.

edit: just read your post again so it has the GM logo? thgat means they ordered it from GM. congrats on that because Safelite usually insists you use there glass.

That happens more often than not on OE glass or aftermarket. That is a warranty issue through your dealer as long as you haven not had the glass replaced before and that it is the stock windshield they will warranty it. make a big deal about safety and what not.

I have installed glass that had distortion like you describe in it. Only after having it installed did I notice it, so I get another piece of glass and do the job over again . I will not leave a windshield with lamination problems in a car. If you have never seen what we are talking about it will make you almost sick like your looking in a funhouse mirror.

yes,, remote start camaro's have the antenna built into the top of the windshield

also gm has a bulletin out about 2010-2011 camaro windshields cracking on their own, so there are some issues with them.

Even though I am pretty sure mine is from a rock chip, I'd be interested in seeing that bulletin.

Safelite repaired mine - the crack was slighty smaller than a dollar bill. 190 bucks. The installer told me to call back anytime request a new windshield be installed for an additional 300. I might put a new one in after winter.
