Mustang/Camaro HP difference

My son is looking to get a SS Automatic, (He knows about the problems some are having) but it will be tuned along with other Mods added.
what we are trying to figure out is what kind of HP he will need to compete with my Mustang GT.

Before adding the supercharger I was running 13.0 with 292 RWHP, it seems like most SS automatics that are running right are putting down around 330 RWHP. assuming they will run the 13.0 advertised.

Now I'm at 490 RWHP with my Mustang GT, I would guess he would have to be around 550 RWHP to run near same times.

Sound about right?

It is more than just numbers .. gotta look at tq curves, gearing, drag coeficient etc (drivers ) .... You are probably about right on though .. I would say about 530 - 540 rwhp with the same curves ...

I was guessing to run about he same as my 509rwhp / 520rwtq 04 cobra, I'd have to make about 550rwhp with the SS.

Whoa ! your pushing that on the stock internals black ? or did you upgrade ?

But yes with the weight, tq curve, He will need about 530 or so @ the wheels. And of course the go fast suspension parts to plant that power. I think the L99's are more in 320 area for power though. There is a thread in the power/engine section with Dyno numbers.

.
Still stock internals, pushing 9.7 lbs. boost with the supershaker.

Plans right now are at the end of the year upgrade internals and turn the boost up.
looking for 600-650 RWHP.

He's a braver man than me !

I'm nervous at 40 less HP than he is running. We both have the same S/C.

Black, I take it your running a GT500 fuel system then.

Nice mod list. I am still running 39lbs and I need to get off the BaP and go to GT500 pumps. I have LT's on the way.
