Update - spoke with a very nice gentleman at Borla this morning. He told me the tip that was too long was likely a manufacturing error. He's looking into the situation as said he would call me back today.

Another update - Greg from Borla just called back (he is an excellent representative for them) and he found a replacement tip and is having it sent overnight. And he's placing a "call tag" order with Fed Ex to have them pick up the defective part (actually, the part looks right, it's just not the right size) picked up tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'm very impressed with Borla's service today.

Final update - issue resolved.

The replacement part ended up shipping on Tuesday, not Monday, but that was okay. But it was shipped FedEx with signature required - which Borla's representative neglected to mention in her confirmation e-mail. When I ordered the parts originally I checked the box on Borla's site that said it was okay to deliver without a signature. So, of course, FedEx was not able to deliver it this week (I had to work) and I had to call them and ask them to hold it and then had to go to the FedEx office and wait in line this morning to pick it up. Ugh!

At least I now have the "in-stock" parts on my car - two full weeks after ordering them.
