Keith....trust me, I really really hate typing on my phone LOL! But I did just pickup a new tablet from Costco the other day and that made it so much better. I guess we are in the new age of thumb typing

These LLT engine is one hell of a knock sensitive engine. It knock anywhere from 3 to 12 on wot depending on different conditions on 93 octane at different rpm range, but direct injected engines with high CR are usually factory implemented with severe octane sensitivity. Vince one time said these engines run massive amount of timing but also pull massive amount of timing LOL. We even seen KR on E85 up to 5* sometimes. Its just the nature of SIDI with high CR.

Now, as far as some dyno data...you guys know is coming we had to work out a few things, so the continuance from the first possible new tune we were testing got delayed. We was going to shoot for this week but vince left on vacation. However, I do have all of the files so early next week definitely! And we will be killing two bird with one stone

Steve, we all appreciate the years of research you guys been putting down over there in AU with another GM Family aka commodores, and thank you for giving us a part of what the other side has to offer! One hell of a way to kick off 2012!

So these motors pull timing (lose HP) when knock is detected?

Yes, and are apparently quite sensitive- they can't tell real knock from a rattling exhaust, so keep everything tightened down!

Our DI engines are pushing the envelope in engine output. The direct injection of fuel cools things down-avoiding hot spots.

And by waiting (advancing timing) as late as possible in the compression cycle, it literally generates the biggest bang for your buck!

Question for Steve @ Mace,

without prying too much, how did you come up with the best thickness for this? Did you test it with thicker and thinner spacers?

Having done a lot of development work with inlet and induction systems over the years, across a broad range of engines, working out a suitable size for the LLT wasn't too bad
