Got 1 side done! More work than I thought but came out good. Just wish it showed up a bit more.

Sun shining through the front.

Back side.

Its a damn shame I can't this much light to shine through with the wheel mounted.

Mounted.

Might be time to consider putting Leds in the wheel well to shine some light on it

Don't do that. lol.

OP, you can tell it's off while you were holding the sample on the surface, that does look surprisingly good though. Since it won't be contrasted with the original paint because it's on a separate piece of the car I think no one else is the wiser.

I think it looks great. It also looks like a lot of work.

Yeah it's a shame it isn't visible more. It's almost like you need the barrel to kind of cone it's way towards the center on the rim. Of course that won't happen but pretty cool. I do have a question for you, what about the wheel weights? Did you cover over them? Cut around them, or did you mark their location, remove them then apply the vinyl and then put them back?

First wheel was a bit sketchy but once I figured out how to go about it, it took about 45 minutes a wheel. I first tried to do the whole wheel in 1 piece. Wasn't a good idea. Finally I ended up cutting it into 5 sections, leaving the seems lined up in the middle of the spokes to keep them hidden.

The 3M vinyl is very easy to manipulate and work with. Use a blow dryer on spots you need to stretch and smoothen out. I was able to twist and stretch the crap out of this stuff without it bubbling at all. It's really an amazing product.

I applied the vinyl over them, then cut them out with a razor.

Very nice... clearly, I am a fan of adding color to wheels, under certain circumstances. My tax bracket/ upgrade budget does not currently have room for new wheels, and those black steelies are not my favorite look. So, I rattle- canned them as an experiment, and the positive response has been enough for me to keep them:

You plan on redoing the wheels each time you put new tires on?

I love the idea, but I would think that would be a major pain in the ass.
