Well actually they should be able to find out exactly who signed off on the body inspection and give the a little slap. A write up at the least.

let me ask this has anyone gone back to the dealer for this . i spoke to the gm of service yesterday about something else and he said that these cars are to new where they dont know anything about them yet . so do i go there and be the lab rat . if they take that rocker off will they have what they need in stock i doubt it so now they put it back on till the part comes in and maybe its worse . the 3m tape seems a little to thick maybe something a little thinnner might do the job .i dont see a new clip fixing this that clip is about 3inches forward from the rear .and the bulging part is about 1 inch from the rear

Find another one with ABM and look at the pics for a comparison. Curious about it.

Maybe it was pushed back to make the fender wall edge flush? Looks like if you flattned it the bottom edge would stick out about 1/16 or so.

I thought it was the tape they use to prevent rock chips ? just a guess
