Can't decide on what to do

I need advice....

I Love my 45th, but I want that new head unit with the backup camera in the Nav screen & color HUD. It's pretty much been said that that head unit CAN'T be put into older versions.

- What year did the color HUD & new head unit start?
- Was it the same year they changed the tail lights?

Too many options here...get a new head unit from a different company, trade up for a newer model, wait for the 16's.....

What would anyone here do?

2013 for mylink with B/U camera
2014 for the color HUD and DIC

I would wait fro the 16's, trust me. going from a 2012 to a 2014, you would kick yourself unless you are also upgrading to a higher model. The color HUD is only the tach (green) and the shift lights. not worth an upgrade. If you want, you can get an after market stereo, though I am sure they hurt the value of the car more than help it. Wait for 2016, JMHO

If I was in that position, I would wait until I saw what the Gen6 really looked like. If you don't like it as much, you would still be able to find a '14/'15 model and get the options you wanted!

I would either get the mylink and the HUD/DIC kit from gen5diy or wait to see what the 2016 looks like

I'd get a 14' or a 15' since we don't know how the 16' model is going to look.

You sound like someone who wants the latest and greatest tech in their car. IMO wait for 2016, if none of it appeals to you 2014/15's will be had a good prices at that point

you CAN put in a Nav and 7" screen head unit in all cars down to 2010. Just buy the OEM and wires, take your time and do it. Who really cares about the HUD, they are pointless IMO. Just something to say you have in your car that most others don't. If you want something like that, just change the horn sound or something to make it different. waste of money and not worth changing your car for it

My 45th 2SS auto just got traded for a 2014 2SS/RS M6 with NPP and I love it compared to the 2012. Never had a second thought after I traded it and it is sitting at the dealer facing the road I often travel. The 2016 may look like a Malibu on the new ATS platform with the generic common front end they like at GM.
