Daily Driver?
Local dealer has a Red Hot Z/28 on the way and I'm thinking of getting it (trading in my 12 SS)
I only driver 12 miles each way to work and only have about 6 months a year to enjoy it. Will do some track but mostly driving to and from work and driving in the mountains (we have some GREAT mountain roads) Have a 2nd car and a Ducati to also drive Is it worth the the chance to own one of these beauties? |

YES. if you can make the finances work, this is a car you won't regret buying. IMHO, of course...
[do NOT pay above retail, though]

As long as your commute isn't just sitting in a traffic jam, it would be a fun ride to have as a daily driver ... I'd take the splitter offf tho for DD so you don't have to worry about it scraping driveways.

On a forum for Camaros, would you expect a reply of, "No, not worth it." ???

Having just drove mine half way cross country, yes, a daily driver it can be. Touring mode, and the seats make for a comfortable ride.
12 miles each way to work, I would hardly consider calling it a daily driver. Even if I had a NASCAR, a 12 miles trip to and from work would be enjoyable. |

Actually I have received some PMs advising me against it, maybe I should have gone to a Mustang site and ask the same question.
Getting a 5th Gen Z/28 owners opinion is what I was seeking not the opinion 5 year olds |

PMs from owners? It is not that bad of a ride honestly. I'm trying to find reasons to drive this car. But I also have 2 other true daily cars. I had some reservations, but after a few hundred miles and the excitement wore off a little I started to evaluate how well the car feels. It does track bad road surfaces, which can be a little unnerving. Otherwise it is predictable and comfortable.
A few complaints I have would be the over the shoulder view during backing, and the sun visors are useless. Nit picking items, the red/white/and blue lights in the rear view mirror cause me to double take at night. And the toggle switches on the steering wheel seem out of place with the push buttons surrounding them. |

To me the single biggest variable in your decision should road surface quality. On decent roads the car is easily used as a DD - I do a similar distance to work and back in the Z/28 once or twice a week. However, if the roads are rutted, pot-holed, and/or have significant surface irregularity/bumps you are better served with a more compliant suspension and narrower tires.
