UPDATE: Finished adding color to my wheels.

Well I finally found a vinyl that I think is a close enough match to IOM. It's 3M Fiery Orange.

I'd like some opinions of if you think the color is close enough and also about my idea.

This vinyl does crazy stuff under different lighting.
Here's the 1st scenario

Now this angle looks like a perfect match.

Now finally here is a sample size of my idea. I want to do the entire inner barrel of the wheel.

Got 1 side done! More work than I thought but came out good. Just wish it showed up a bit more.

Sun shining through the front.

Back side.

Its a damn shame I can't this much light to shine through with the wheel mounted.

Mounted.

Hey, I like that idea. That should look good if you can get it applied right. Subtle yet a splash of color.

It will look similar to a dodge challenger redline edition wheel (which look great in person)

To be perfectly honest that is where I got the idea from. I parked next to a black one at my local Walmart parking lot. I think these wheels will show a little more of the color. The inner barrel on my wheels come more to the outside edge of the wheel.

You guys think this color is close enough?

wouldn't it be possible to get the vinyl pin striping like what is used on motorcycle rims and use it on our cars? if so maybe get some in the color vinyl that you found.

I think it's a nice idea, it's not exact match but close. Besides it might be difficult to tell the difference being that there would be space between the colors. Like your not putting the vinyl right on the paint

That's exactly what my thought was when I started looking and couldn't find IOM vinyl. Just has to be close enough...

Well I went and ordered 4 1'x5' rolls of vinyl. Hoping I get it by Friday. If I end up with the vinyl and the day off then that will be project day.

THAT doesn't appeal to me, but the idea of running it in the barrel is genius!

I tried it in the barrel years ago on my Chargers rims.

Could never get it to stick well enough with years of grime in the barrel. Became a major nuisance to clean as well with all the brake dust.

Hope you have better luck! Would be awesome!

Thanks guys!

I did try sticking a previous sample to that part of the wheel to see how it stuck and it seems to work perfectly. Even better than I thought.

Vinyl shipped today!!

At first Glace it almost looks like it's just a reflection of the paint showing on the spokes. Definitely doesnt look bad but not sure if I like it...
