Odd. I dont have any issues like that. Something is def wrong if it happens at all the gas stations.

Don't stick the nozzle all the way inside...just insert a quarter of the nozzle in and see if that helps

My mother's 2LT has been like this since she bought it back in early December, and no matter what she or my father tries (I get to hear about it weekly via phone call), "it just keeps shutting off & takes forever to fill up!!"

Haven't had a chance to take it in yet, but this isn't the first mention of it I've seen, there's at least one other thread in the Problems category. Odd, yes.

This issue has been covered a lot on this site. It is NOT an issue with the car. It is an issue with the different gas nozzle designs.

Gas nozzles have a vent on them that allow the sensors in the nozzle to shut off the pump. When people over fill their cars, gas gets in this vent and gets stuck. This tricks the sensor into thinking the tank is full and shuts off. Some designs are better and has relocated the vent to a better location. If you are experiencing this issue, either go to another gas station or try a different pump at that gas station.

My wife was having a problem filling up our SS. I went with her to see what she was doing wrong. It turns out all she needed to do was push the nozzle onto the filler with some force rather than lightly inserting the nozzle. No weird angles are needed and she has filled up at at least three different stations and multiple pumps at each station. Also, our gas cap never falls off of the hook as many have complained about. Hope this helps!
