Question Worlds most powerful spark plug?

http://www.pulstar.com/index.htm

Any one work with these? Sounds too good to be true, so I was wondering if it is all hype.

If they were that great, every car would have them installed from the factory?

That was my first thought too. I don't remember any magazine testing these or a like product. It sounds good, IF it really does what they claim.

We did extensive testing on them 3 years ago & posted all the results. We used 2 new C6's and compared to brand new NGK TR6's in a compleely climate controlled dyno and duplicated the conditions as close as possibe. Final decision, they worked....but not enough to be worth the cost IMHO....but we backed it up. It all started on the Corvette Forum where I called Pulstar out to put up or shut-up with a totally independant tuner doing it all. They over nighted 2 sets and we spent 2 days on the tests.....they work, no doubt about it but at that cost I doubt any manufacturer will ever include them from the factory and allthough it was definately measurable, not the mod I would endorse.

Do you have the data handy by chance?

If the plugs work as claimed, they would probably be worth it. Better fuel burn equals more power and economy. My question is- what is the life of these? If they last as long as the regular platinum or iridium plugs, I would consider getting these.

Waste of money. If you buy that then you should also buy a set of MSD coils to go with it to complete the full circle of near fraudulent waste.

Put that money towards something that will benefit the car. Anything but should do.

They are just like a normal spark plug except they have a built in capacitor. Nology Makes wires based on the same idea but they are more complicated as each wire needs to be grounded. I had a friend put them in his 2009 Hemi Ram. He said he could feel a difference but he had to take them out after a few hundred miles because he got the platinum ones and apparently the 5.7L Hemi can't use platinum. I guess it takes more voltage to fire them then standard plugs and the Ram's computer see's an incorrect voltage and pops a CEL and the truck begins to idle rough. He ended up putting in regular non platinum plugs. Of course if you're looking for every little bit of power I guess it's a drop in the hat compared to some mods.

We had no CEL's, but the tests were done on 2 new C6 vettes. One was a heads/cam car & the other bone stock. And yes, they do work.

Oh, and we tested the MSD coils the same way and found NO documentable gains....but love their wires.

did you have to advance the timing at all? Curious if the capacitor gave enough resistance that it might throw the timing table off a lil bit.

I believe this would be the results of your test.

Yes, thats the thread. I never got the time to do more testing of fuel economy, but with a climate controled dyno room we were able to duplicate the conditions as close as possible.

Those MPG's are so finicky and variable it's nearly impossible to duplicate results with even a 99% accuracy rate. I would assume you might see some MPG increase though.
