You can either use open end sockets or offset wrenches so that you can use the 6mm allen key through it. Once you tighten the inner 6mm bolt a little bit it should stay in place and you can torque the outer 18 mm bolt

Dumb question, does 6mm bolt tighten up by turning clockwise or ccw with the Allen key?

You are welcome.

GM is looking for a better long term solution, but we already know what that is

LocTite and Nordloc are a bit like belt and suspenders, but we don't like to fix the same problem twice

I started to hear the clunk noise after i lowered it. is it just a coincidence that this started to happen or is it because i lowered it?

Same issue

I have a 2018 SS 1 LE and had to take it back to the dealership to have it looked at. After about 1000 miles on the car I started to hear the same noise from the front left. It appears a bolt had loosened. It was a 30 minute fix but seeing all these post about the same issues has me concerned.

No need to be concerned a drop of Loctite and a Nordloc washer on each of the four endlink studs is a permanent fix.

The right lower ball joint did take over a turn which was a little freaky. Stuff settles aluminum gets hot and cold stuff gets loose so not going to say it's GMs fault for this. I drive it very hard so it's expected for stuff to get loose. Just glad it's quiet again and nothing is bad.

EXACTLY! We'll done sir.

Do you think it's the metal to metal of the struts in the car?

My new 2018 ZL1 with 402 miles just started making the clunk. Have an appointment on Wednesday morning to get the end links tightened. How is this still an issue on 2018s??

I've noticed this in my parking garage on occasion. Seems not a fix to just tighten. This also is not normal for a car to do this. Using loctite or the nord lock may work.

Anyone with aftermarket end links have this issue? I'd rather go that route if there were good alternatives.
