My Dynomax drone is annoying.

I recently purchase a 2011 2SS with a Dynomax Catback system that has the bullet mufflers. After a few weeks the drone has irritated my Tennitis to the point that I feel the need to replace the bullets with something else. Full throttle blasts do not bother me with the bullets. It is just that one sweet spot when cruising. Today I cracked open the windows and it reduced the interior noise pressure enough to help. I am considering the Dynomax VT mufflers through Summit Racing but I need to know if they will make that much of a difference when just cruising under light throttle. I have read alot of good things about them on this forum. Is the VT mufflers the best of both worlds or should I consider a different model? I just want new muffler and not another system.

You can add J pipes to kill the drone also. Several threads on it.

I Love Drone! But I can also understand why some don't like it!

The J pipe is the same price as the vt mufflers. It seems like a cool fix but pricey. I fabricate so i may buy some bends from summit racing and make my own.

There are a few threads on here with dimensions. My solo J pipes are around 31" all the way extended on mine iirc. I needed it in the 1400-1500 RPM range the most.

It has an xpipe but i don't believe it has a resonator. I haven't really looked under the car yet but plan to.

My Magnaflow resonated x pipe removed my drone with my Borla touring axle back. It's tame at idle but at WOT, it sounds amazing.

Had my muffler shop do the same thing. 150 fabbed up and welded on.adjustable endcaps and all.
res x pipe didnt help with the outlaw mufflers, but those are loud and no packing in them.
