Does anyone know if it would be possible to just have an axle back version of the quad exhaust? Or is it a huge difference in pipe size from stock? I still want to hear more clips of the exhaust. I'm kind of surprised that more people aren't commenting

this is the best description on how it works that I could find

The system uses the engine control module (ECM), body control module (BCM), electronic brake control module (EBCM), EFCM, exhaust flow control valve vacuum solenoid, vacuum reservoir, vacuum lines, 2 exhaust flow control valves and the serial data circuit to perform its functions. Ultimately, the EFCM directs the vacuum solenoid off as vehicle speed increases, throttle position reaches 25 percent or greater, and dentine speed reaches 3500 RPM. In other words, drive the Camaro hard, and you’ll reap the benefits of the dual-mode exhaust.
The combination of the above events causes the valves to open, thereby diverting exhaust flow through an un-baffled path inside the mufflers and enhancing engine performance. A great addition to an already-great car

this was an option on the 2LT I picked up 2 weeks ago. After test driving the car I told the salesman I liked the car but D EX me 1 in with out DME. He said "I will give you 500 more for the trade to take the car." I took the car. Sounds awesome.

I have since found out you can install these on pre 2013 cars but you would need to also install the "npp in a box" system that gmpartshouse sells to control the system.

This option came out after I placed my 2013 order and it had advanced too far into the system for me to change it.

Do you know if you can install dual-mode exhaust on 2013's using this setup and get the same result as if it were a factory install?

Did you order a manual or automatic?

On the V6, is is supposed to available on both, but I have yet to see where anyone has been able to order it on the automatic.

Do you have all the part numbers by chance? I'm considering getting this.

From what I've read, the result is very close if not the same as factory. Its just a bit more difficult to install since its more than just installing a catback. you have to run some wireing, and I think a vaccum line. From what I've seen, the "NPP in a box" (which is a little ECM unit in a plastic container) is mounted in the trunk.

I don't have the part number, but as I said before you can hit up Patric on here from GM parts house and ask him. Also, just hop on google and type in something like "Camaro5 NPP in a box". its what I did, and the thread popped up.

I am very interested in this. I am curious to see how it will compare to either a catback or axle back.

I'm going to follow this closely and see if this is a good option for me in the future. After all, this is very new.

I am also waiting to see what, if anything, SEMA is going to introduce.
