Uh, guys...AFM does indeed kick in when you use tap shift/manual mode. One way I found to defeat it when on the highway is to downshift to 5th for a few seconds then back up to 6th. It stays off for some reason. But it definitely comes on when you use tapshift - just let the RPMs fall to 2200 or below...

Yes, The AFM definitely still kicks in when in tap shift mode. If you want it disabled, you must tune it out, or drive aggressively all the time.

Yeah, there is no (stock tuned) off switch, per se. But how you drive controls it (rpms being the major factor).

Not saying I don't believe you, Hester. Just wanna know for sure.
Yes, it does work. Try it out, you can't do any harm.

AFM does not take place with the paddles. No matter what RPM.
My car uses AFM in any mode including manual. It happens when i get to a steady state speed. in manual mode even, if i get to like 3rd or fourth gear and cruise at steady speed it kicks in. maybe mine is broken though :-) currently trying to trade in for a stick since i hate AFM.

Ps. - Downshifting gears while moving is amazing. It blips the throttle and you can hear your exhaust ROAR. It's sexy. lol
I was all for the m6 until i test drove an auto, i love the tap shifters... use them 100% of them time.

I took a coworker for a ride after my exhaust was installed and he was blown away when the car did that. Love that sound!

I fell in love with the tap shift after I installed my axle back. It sounds and performs like an actual M6 ...IMO
