you were told wrong and I would reconsider having that dealership work on your vehicle, simpy read the owners manual. I use AMSOIL personally.

I just buy the supplies I need from wal-mart with my 10% discount and then bring the car anywhere that changes oil and they do it for like $10-$15 when I give them the supplies. Total mobile 1 synthetic change costs me around $38-$46

When I took my 1SS in to the dealer get the locknuts on the spoiler done, I got a survey to do. Guy gave me a certificate for a free (synthetic!) oil change....know where my next oil change will be!

Try Mr Goodwrench

$84.00 at Gordon Chevy, Garden City, MI. How can you beat that? I don't know if that is a one-time price or typical dealer price, but I've never gotten a service discount without asking for it.

As long as you get 7.8 qts out, then OK. Just make sure nothing left in the pan.

Never thought about a nail. I’ve always used a center punch and a hammer to put a small hole in the side. I have only had my oil changed by someone else once, and it cost me 90 bucks for the Sky. That was the last and only time. I simply do not trust other people when it comes to my vehicles. That and I’ve seen too many mistakes made on oil changes.

Has anybody lubed their car yet? I’m due for an oil change soon, and I almost always grease it while I’m under there. Just looking for any hidden grease fittings that might be under there.

I doubt you'll find any grease fittings. Most car manufacturers switched to sealed ball joints and other suspension parts years ago.
