Crap, sorry to hear about this.
I have an idea, if everyone in this thread who has dealt with atleast one dead battery after installation of these taillights (and you believe that they could be the culprit), copy and paste the list below with your screen name added to it, so we can start getting a count when everyone sees this thread. I'll then update the list on the very first post of this thread. List of individuals with inoperable batteries due to taillight installation: 1.) TCAT 2.) Christianmotox 3.) Tom D 4.) KARLOR 5.) SSMOKN 6.)freefallin2005 |

Don't know what the exact drain in current since my tender doesn't provide that. What it does is flash a light when there is a significant drain on the battery. Since I have hooked them back up it is now flashing constant. Did not flash with OE lights at all since normal load on car was not that significant.

I had this issue a few months ago as well. Drained my battery all the way. Just took the battery to autozone and had them recharge it. I havn't had it happen again since then, but we will see if my battery ever gets low again if it happens again.

Definitely let us know. Hopefully it won't occur again, but the chances are unfortunately good that it will occur again.

We officially have 10 people on the updated list on page 1 that have experienced this taillight issue. Imagine all the people on C5 that have not seen this thread, as well as all the owners of these taillights with a Camaro around the world. I'd love to see if/when they experience the same issue, and how widespread it may be.

I'm just glad I found this thread because it confirmed that what was happening to my car was identifiable. No one was able to figure out what was wrong with it. Not a good feeling after putting all the TLC into it...

I'd like to work on mine and see what I can come up with but it's been too cold. I have a couple of ideas I want to try but don't want to get too creative with the wiring and void my warranty.
I was reading the installation instructions and read that it takes about 2 hours to fully install the lights. 2 hours seemed like a long time for something that's plug-and-play, until I started to remove the chrome rings. It probably takes almost 2 hours to pull the stupid things off without breaking them. Maybe it's just too cold here. I can hear them cracking when trying to pry them off. I spent 20 minutes on one and never did get it completely out. |

Yeah, it took me almost 4 hours to install my lights, and that was going really slow, constantly reading the directions, double checking before I made connections, and a lunch break, LOL. I think the 2 hours they state is way to fast. Once you've installed them once, maybe 2 hours the second time around.
