Thoughts on black Rally Stripes Package - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I just placed my order for a 2010 2SS/RS IOM Camaro with my local dealer in San Antonio on June 6th. My question is I am really considering ordering the black rally stripe's but cannot tell officially what they will look like. I was told by the dealer that the stripes will match the paint color perfectly. I of course want to go with the black but I'm really not sure what to expect from these stickers. I have seen both shinny and very rough looking ones (not shinny at all). Some look like they were painted on and they say it's the Rally Stripe Package. While other pictures look like crap. I have plenty of time to wait and the dealer has several orders ahead of mine coming in that I can look at. But I'm impatient and have been reading a lot of posts from helpful people. Just figured I would ask some experts on this matter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The LPO (dealer installed) black rally stripes are MATTE (non-glossy) finish. If you want gloss stripes, have them painted on by someone who knows what they're doing. My .02

MVHO...matte black will not look as good on the metallic...I saw CGM stripes on IOM..that looks great...I just don't know if the stripes will pop...paint them black and it will look great

What's up San antonio here too! I've seen the flat black stripes on IOM I think it looks sweet! I'm seriously thinking about installing flat black stripes on my CGM.

On IOM I don't think you can go wrong with any of the stripe colors. I've seen a pic of an IOM SS w/ flat black stripes & it looked good. I myself am partial to glossy colors but if I got black stripes on an SS I definitely think I'd go with the flat black over the gloss.

Sorry, don't like the factory flat black.
But really like the painted on glossy black stripes.

With IOM...either have them painted a gloss black, or go with the factory CGM

I just got a quote from a really reputable body shop i do business with and they quoted me between $800 and $1,000. But not more than $1,000 depending on how long it takes. I have a aqua blue mettalic and am having the stripes painted silver. I'll keep you posted on how they turn out.
