Fantasy ZL1

Who remembers the Kia Optima commercial fromt the 2012 Super Bowl, and who really thought that should have been the commercial that officially introduced the ZL1 to the world with all that manness going on?

Well I have Kickstart My Heart ready to go in my car any time, don't know about you.

But that being stated, I think the ZL1 really is a dream car for real life, although my sister in law says not for real life, normal people can't afford one, but whatever.

So what is the ultimate ZL1? what would you do to it if money, circumstances, driveability, voiding the warranty, and wives didn't come into play? If you could do anything you wanted to a ZL1, take it to any shop, what and where would that be, what would that car be capable of?

For those that have already done it, what might you do differently on a second go?

thank you

I wouldn't start the thread with a Kia commercial

Agreed, that would have made a killer ZL1 commerical

I would send mine to ADM and tell Andy to let his imagination go wild.

Look, I said money didn't matter for this discussion, but do you guys know how much Hennessey is, I just got the quote back from them, it's a lot. I mean I'm sure they are worth it, but damn

I don't want to get into it too much because I've contacted several big shops and so far everyone has been more than helpful and prompt with a quote, but what you are paying for is those fancy stickers on the side and in some cases a warranty. Hennessey and Lingenfelter definitely warranty their work. But I found one even more expensive than them that doesn't necessarily offer a warranty like those two, not to mention it's a shop that I've barely heard of, so you aren't even getting the fancy stickers on your car that mean something.(stickers add horsepower)

Bottom line is I'm probably now doing the work myself, and I have a mechanical engineer/mechanic(he's an engineer that wants to open a speed shop) helping me, he said "Do you know what we can do to that car with $15,000?" Not a novice, he has a little shop and I've seen some of his cars in action, but it's not his sole profession yet.

He said, and I quote "Yeah, just buy my food the days we work on it, I'd like to work on a ZL1." Can't beat that with a stick
