Another stupid dealer email - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just got this email from a local dealer...

Hi xxxx,
Recently you inquired to xxxxx Chevrolet concerning your seach for a Camaro. This morning we received in three new. A SS series in black with 2lt pkg. A SS series with 1lt, a RS Series and one v6 model. You can view these on our website at www.xxxxxx.com
I just wanted to send you a follow up email to see if there is anything that I can do for you. Please let me know if you have any questions or a time you would like to stop by.
If you are still in the market and seek some additional information on these vehicles please contact me directly at xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Went to the website...only one car listed (a 1LT, no "SS series"!). Jeez, you'd think they'd at least look at the window sticker if they didn't know what the car was

Just a salesman wanting to sell a car. Not everyone is a Camaro enthusiast, or even car enthusiast.

But it is funny to talk to people who don't know.

The really dumb thing is they say they have three, but from reading the description of the models, it sounds like they think they have four. Because it had to be said:

Thats pretty bad. Not gonna get much business when theyre advertising cars they dont have.

you are making an assumption that the dealers website is magically updated when the truck unloads the vehicles.

I'm pretty certain that even when they update the system, they still won't have that SS series with the 2lt or 1lt packages

I basically bought my car through email correspondence. I have a lot of dealers in my area and only about half even emailed me back! My dealer was really good with the emails. Have faith, there are good dealers out there!
