My goal of 650-700 rwhp
I've surfed my way through a few threads that have said that when you start modding you should have a horsepower number in mind. With that being said, I've set my goal at 650-700 rwhp. Why? My baseline/stock dyno was just under 350 rwhp, so I figured a good number would be to double that, about 700 rwhp. My plan is to add a Bwoody CAI (claiming up to about 40 rwhp with a tune), Kooks LT and exhaust, and Whipple SC and a better cam. Last I heard the Whipple SC hasn't hit the market yet. I haven't done a lot or research on camshafts for the LS3 any help/guidance would be appreciated. This is not something that will happen immediately or even all at once as this is probably about $13K and I don't have that much coin to drop all at once (getting married this year and possibly buying a house). My question is after all this, am I going to have to upgrade my drive train (clutch/flywheel/driveshaft) and brakes if I do this? I figure that 650-700 rwhp is about 765-823 at the crank. Will the stock drive train support that much horsepower? Thanks in advance for your help.

you will definately need a new clutch, probably suspsension/axles, not sure what HP the manual tranny can handle without beefing that up. You will also need new tires/wheels otherwise you will just be spinning all the time. I am at 500HP with the stock tires and traction is an issue at this level, add 200 more HP and I don't know how you would use it on the street with stock tires. Honestly I think 500 is plenty of power for driving around the street so you may want to save some coin and go for around 540 or so HP and then see how you like it. Driving with 500 or so is nothing like driving a stock camaro and I really can't imagine what driving around town with 700 HP at the wheels would be like, my car can do burnouts at 60+MPH right now and get sideways. Good luck with whatever options you decide on.
