Timing chain tensioner???

Did a search but couldn't get a definitive answer. Is it best/necessary to change the timing chain tensioner with a cam upgrade on the ZL1 or not? Thought I read at some point the issue with the stock tensioners breaking was resolved with the ZL1?

Previous thread....replace it if you had to use any force to pry it off during removal.
So inexpensive it makes sense to just do it anyway.

I used the stock one with my Brian Tooley cam. Works fine. Be very careful when you squeeze it, to pin it, I think a lot of the reported failures are from how one clamps it together. I asked Brian Tooley before I did mine and he said he has used both types and doesn't have a preference. Good Luck!
