If your not interested in the power upgrade then definitely stick with the 6. I wanted an SS BADLY but couldn't afford it. I'm happy I got my car in the 6. It worked out better for me personally bc I had a baby 5 months ago and if I had bought the SS I wouldn't have been able to pay it off in as fast as I did and lease a new car months before I paid it off. I would have had to trade it in, gotten a regular car and would be missing it. The v6 isn't an inferior car. It's obviously not as powerful as the big brother but it's plenty fast for driving around. I can hit 70 in 3rd.....with 3 gears to spare...

So anyone think I can get more money on trade if I tell them they can keep the new tires?

I don't think a 2010 1LT and a 2014 2LT should be considered "the same car". There have been significant numbers of technological and comfort improvements in those 5 model years, not to mention more horsepower. (6-way power seats, MyLink, about 20+ horsepower, and the gage pack, etc.).

And I'm pretty sure i007spectre knows what he/she is getting and is happy with the V6. Plus, OP, it sounds like a pretty decent deal.

Plus you are getting about 20 more HP over the 2010 engine.

Well when I originally looked at the car and got the initial offer, they said they would call me the next day, cause I told them it was my day off. Well that day came and went with no call. Then the next day they call, and I am at work. So ill have to call Monday to see if they can email me a copy of the offer with whatever savings, trade, etc information on it that I can review.

To a car guy, having a V8 is not just about the power. I do not think the whole concept, though, could be explained... one just has to either be that kind or not be. It's part of that whole car/muscle era mentality.

Oh believe me, if I could afford a ZL1 or a new Corvette, that would be what I would get.

Does the dealership still have the option of installing the clear 3M stuff to protect the bumper and quarter panels, or was that a third party item? Also are the mud guards different than the ones mine has now, or are they the same?

g/l in your decision. For me, I kept my 2010(after much a/m upgrades), and added a C6 corvette stablemate instead. Now I can alternate between an auto v6 and a std v8 whenever I feel like it.

Any answers to my last few questions would be appreciated. Also I still think the new taillights are horrid, but what can you do.

You would be a lot better off selling private party. And negotiate a price for the car then tell them about your trade so they don't play with numbers and make out like crazy.
