This picture was taken outside Plaza Tire Co. here in Peoria, IL. These guys hooked me up with a great deal on my wheels so we snapped some shots in front of their famous statue, Miss Uniroyal a.k.a. Vanna Whitewall.

Info about Miss Uniroyal:

She was manufactured in the 1960s in Venice, California, "Miss Uniroyal" arrived here in Peoria, IL in May of 1968 as a grand opening promotion. She was stored here at our Plaza Tire until Uniroyal needed her at another grand opening. Due to the years of wear and tear on her body, Uniroyal decided to change to their present mascot, Bengal "Tiger Paws" Tiger. Plaza Tire acquired her in 1971. She is 17 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 450lbs.

In 1988 at the Plaza Tire 20th anniv. they had Miss Uniroyal's body restored and repainted, and we renamed her Vanna Whitewall.

Love those chrome wheels but those fender nameplates only belong on early 60's Camaros in my opinion. As I was around back, then they look out of place to me.
