How to adjust ride height?
Simple question and i feel like a retard for asking this but how do you adjust the ride height on bc racing coilovers? I thought it was done by adjusting the top 2 coil locks but then realized those were used to adjust the preload. Looking at the coilovers from the top view do I have to adjust the very bottom coil lock that's seperate from the 2 that adjust the preload? If so which direction would i have to turn it to raise up the car? My car sits to low in the rear and im trying to raise it about half an inch. I know i will need allignment again but just wanna fix this quick problem without having to take it to the shop.

Most coilovers adjust height and preload at the same time. By adjusting height you are also changing the cross weights of the car (cornerbalancing). raising the height increases the weight at that corner.
you adjust it by loosening the bottom ring and then using the top ring to adjust height and then tighten the bottom ring back so the top ring doesn't move when you are driving. looking from the bottom, raise it by turning clockwise, it's just a threaded body. the only way to lower without changing the spring preload is to lower the actual mounting point of the shock (like with lowering control arms, etc). |
