X Pipe Discussion/Recomendations

So I am speaking out to all the exhaust experts...

I am trying to decide where to go now with the exhaust. I currently have:

1. K&N CAI
2. MRT V2 Exhaust
3. BBL LT headers with HF Cats

I wondering if I should install:

1. Resonator Delete Only
2. Magnaflow Resonated X Pipe with Resonator Delete
3. Regular BBK X Pipe
4. Regular BBK x Pipe with resonator delete

I am trying to get the deepest and most "throaty old school" tone as possible. I defiantly don't want any RICE! I also would like to keep the exhaust loud as possible. I have read some many forums...my head hurts..lol

Thanks

I would say number 2. U do not want to go with 3 or 4 for that matter. itll be loud and drone would be a killer.. trust me I had BBK X pipe and it was too much..

Definitely go with the Resonated X. The volume will come down, but rasp and drone will be pretty much nonexistent.

Feel free to call, PM or email me with questions.

Best regards,

The magnaflow resonated x is the best. It may not have the loudness you want, but the sound will be much better than the alternatives.

It shouldn't be to bad with the LT's though. He'll get a nice sound without the headache drone and rasp.

Did you do it?
I currently have k&n CAI and SLP LM2 axle back.
Getting my magnaflow resonated x pipe put on on Thursday. Debating on cutting off the resonators while I'm at it.

We are running pretty close to the same setup, did you wanna do me a favor bud? Wanna take a video of before and after with whatever you choose to do?

I am thinking of getting a res xpipe but would love to know what it sounds like before and after.

MS_acoustic and bionick: Well I am still on the fence as to what to do....I haven’t modified anything since this post. Well, that’s not true, I did add a ported Throttle body which is a fantastic mod! No exhaust mods, done however.

I want to get a deeper sound if possible but I don’t want to make the audible level lower. From what I read and everyone’s responses, thats what will happen..I will post some audio of the car as is.

To me, the best sounding V6 I have heard is on you tube. Link is:
My car sounds close to this. I would say he has some sort of Ghost cam running to get that "thumping" sound at idle. His sounds a little deeper then mine and according to the youtube post he did a res delete but doesn’t mention the resonated xpipe. From what I have been told that is not a good option but....his setup sounds good so I am again....on the fence as to what to do.

Some people may not see the difference or think there is one but the temperature does change the note a bit and there's a huge difference in the start-up sound to the actual driving around sound and the vid you have never had him letting his car idle down from start-up.
