Going with some tsw nurburgring
5x120 18x8 +35 front and 18x9.5 +40 rear

Any problems running this as a front tire
235/55-18 GENERAL G-MAX AS-03
28.2" tall
Weight 23.11 lbs

Will be running a 305/45R18 Mickey Thompson ET street radial in the rear which I believe is 28.8" tall

Good to go?

I went ahead and ordered. Discount tire direct on ebay has a good discount going on right now, I got them for what I feel was an awesome deal for the Nurburgring 18x8 and Gmax 235/55R18 combo

The tires were the lightest I could find in the 28" tall tire range at only 23.11 lbs each and have a W speed rating (168mph)

So total weight per front wheel/tire will be 41.71 lb each down from 62 lbs for the stock wheels should help this big girl get down the track a little faster

How much weight do you save by going to weld rts with skinnies? How much have ¼ mile times improved I'm all stock wondering how much I'd gain with wheels and tires.
Thanks

Stock fronts are 62-65 lbs, and you'd be swapping on a 38-41 lb front wheel combo.

Wow ok the backs are probably 65-68lb then. Stock I am debating on what to do first here I have a few bucks saved for go fast goodies. Wish I could just do all right off the bat but wheels and tires... or cam headers and Dyno tune...?? Decisions decisions

Rears are 68 based on what I've read.

Check out the links in my sig, part 1 and 2. But air box/ headers /tune is always a lot of fun. I picked up 6 MPH at the track from stock.

Nice numbers I'm just curious what I would pick up from the weight loss of wheels and tires plus traction... I know not near what a cam and headers would get me. Might be a little easier on parts having more sidewall though

Well if you did 17x4.5 and 17's or 18's in back, I'm thinking you drop 40-50 up front and 30 in back. Might be more if using bias ply tires. Between the weight drop, decrease in up front rolling resistance, and traction, could be a few tenths. So if you are a 13.2 car maybe 12.8?

I really like the weld rts or the v series but I'm leaning to rts and I think you can get a 17x5 front and I'd get a 17x9 or 10 rear

I have a 2015 ZL1 and I am looking to drag race it at a local track. I will be trailering the car, so I don't need to worry about street legal tires.
From what I have read I think I want to go with Biasply tires in the rear and skinnies up front.
I want to do this right the first time and have some traction left over for soon to come mods.
Any help would be great!
