F1 fans

Wondering if anyone here is an F1 fan?

I started getting back into F1 a few years back. The cars are amazing. Sure, it's not alot of "side by side" racing, but it is competitive and I enjoy watching it.

Much better than NASCAR IMO.

I like F1, but my favorite is actually the Grand Touring series. I'd rather watch Corvettes, Porches, Ferraris, Saleens, and Vipers battle it out. Don't get me wrong, I like NASCAR and watch it frequently, but given a choice I'd rather watch the other. F1 is fun, those cars are insane.

I too like seeing the Corvette's, Aston Martins, Porches, etc.
I caught some of the '12 hours of Sebring' this past weekend.

F1 cars are definitely amazing. I like watching the first 5 laps or so when they actually race and sometimes wreck each other. I'll pretty much watch anything automotive related. I'd probably be more interested in F1 if there were competitive American drivers and/or cars with GM designed drivetrains. I think it's just Ferrari, BMW, Honda and Toyota now.

I dont like racing, especially NASCAR. They go around in circles over and over and... oh a left turn. Watch out another left turn! Be careful a left turn!

F1 is nothing like NASCAR..... Unfortunately the types of racing that are actually good for spectating don't get much exposure in America .

But in all seriousness, there is more to it than that. I can see how alot of people can find it boring, monotonous, etc., but I dated a girl who felt the same way, and after some explaining and taking her to a few races, she was hooked.

I lost interest beginning with the loss of The Intimidator. :( Then when FOX took over, it became a show with less quality race coverage. And the "straw that broke the camels back" was allowing Toyota in. I'll still watch it on ocassion, but I don't enjoy it as much as I used too.

Yeah...I watched the beginning on SPEED. Then they cut to Busch series pre race or something so I turned it off.

Now there's something I don't get - drifting.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

I absolutely can not get enough of drifting… I wish there was a track near here that would let us practice…

Come on Moose, are you telling me that you would not enjoy jumping in a car and seeing how long you could stall it out sideways and be in control the whole time. I'm telling you, once you tried it you would be hooked…

I don't get drifting either. I mean don't get me wrong, I love seeing people smoke 'em up good. The best tire smoke you'll find is a funny car or top fueler heating them up before a run!! 8000 horsepower!!!
