Sure it's belt slip. Has the boost control in the tune been upped to allow more boost without dumping it at 192 kPa?

it has not its stock tune, i havent heard of anyone else running into that issue yet though so i didnt even consider it. i was just out driving though and it was holding 11-12 psi fine at 1/2 and 3/4 throttle. but when i floored it seemed like it slipped. it could very well be dumping it and rebuilding it though. whats the stock boost cut on these?

Isn't that like 26 psi or so? With tha pulley his peak boost would be 11.5.

I think 11.5 psi might be pushing it on stock tune though. Ted was running 97 octane at 10.5 psi.

Do you have a datalog? Your positive it is not knock retard?

I thought you might have problems with the 9.1 as that's about 14% OD. I think you would be better off with the 8.86" which is 10% OD. All of Teds test were with the 10% OD pulley.

I wanted the 10% but there was a mix up when I ordered my set up. May just go ahead and order the 8.6 ring aswell it's only 130 and then the belt for 50. Need to log this on the Dyno and narrow the issue down first

Gotcha. So that would be 7.5% OD.

Actually, Ted was running close to 12psi with the 10% OD pulley, Roto-Fab intake, and Torco at 97 octane. He mentioned 10.5psi was all the stock tune could handle WITHOUT Torco to boost octane.

I bet the way you described putting on the belt with help from other people that the belt is actually too short and the tensioner isn't doing its job. You should be able to push the belt onto one of the smooth idlers then release and let the tensioner take up the slack. Try a belt that is one size longer and I bet it fixes your issue.

he has the rotofab as well though so he is pulled to 11.5 but most likely running 12.5 or so.

I could be wrong he is running 100 octane but it is another varible that was not tested originally.

I would double check the belt it should slip on and then be tentioned but I would also want to see 100% that I don't have knock retard.

a dyno pull even would just show whats going on.

yea i was suppose to run it last night but my friend had to run to pick some stuff up so we werent able to get it on his dyno. going to run it next week and see what the issue is. the belt did seem to tight as the tensioner is maxed out on it just to get it on
