I'm actually a bit surprised Mustang sales haven't imploded more already. It is in the 10th and final year of the current platform, with the countdown to a newer and improved one rapidly winding down.

Camaro had the month in July I thought they would have in June because of the pace car/
motor sport exposure in May and June. I guess the lag is normal, very nice showing!

2015 Mustang - big things in the pipeline. Do you really want to own a 2013-2014?

I bet we see similar charts for Camaro next year. Is the retro trend dead?
I am laying back to get a good inventory clearance price on a 2014 Mustang GT.
2014s are last of the solid axle pony cars and best of the solid axle pony cars.
I fit my 07 GT with Steeda rear control arms and 3rd link, Detroit true track helical gear differential, Ford Racing 3.73:1 ring gearing, and Fays 2 Watts link. Panhard bars cause problems in aggressive turns. The GT handles great.

Euro / IRS is the future. I am a US car guy and I want one more.

I believe that each new generation is not always better than the previous in terms of sales. Styling plays a huge part in someone making the decision to buy one particular car over another. I love the first gen, third gen, and fifth gen Camaros. I do not like the styling and would not purchase a second or fourth gen. I like the current mustang styling better than the euro look, so if I ever bought a Mustang, it would be the current styling, not the new styling.

In regard to the 2014 refresh, I simply do not like the changes. I prefer the larger upper front grille of the 10-13s over the larger bottom grille on the refreshed Camaro. If GM takes the 6th generation in the direction the Mustang appears to be headed, I'll definitely buy something different.

GM did a good job of crafting the 5th gen to appeal to a wide audience as evidenced by its sales. Hopefully, the next generation will do the same!!!

Wasn't the, people are waiting for the new Mustang to come out and that is why the Camaro is out selling the Mustang excuse used since 2009?. Just saying.....

We are still in the 2013 model year with the new Mustang being a 2015 model year car, so I don't think it is having much of an impact on sales as of yet.

The new Mustang will be on sale Spring to early Summer of next year. I would say its having a big impact on the mustang sales. Just as the 14 Camaros I think are the reason for the rise in Camaro sales. I knew as soon as the refresh for the Camaro was revealed that that last month of the 13 model would see a spike in sales, for the people that are trying to get the best looking Camaro. The Camaro sales for the next month or two should stay on the rise until the first push of 14's is over then I think you will see sales drop.

Amazing and good news! Goes to show that the 5th gen is just too sexy to overcome! I think the new Mustang is pretty damn good looking and with its performance to boot I kind of felt like Mustang would take the lead back and start to hold on to it maybe. But this says otherwise. All the more reason for GM to get the 6th gen right in the looks department!

Now I can't wait to see how the 2014 does....if sales decline...especially against a Mustang that on its last leg before a new generation...then I think GM can finally admit they messed up on parts of the new design.

Then again...maybe I'll just eat my words.

I'm wondering how much the Ford factory shut-down contributed to the decline for the mustang.

Flat Rock was down from 7/1 to 7/29 to tool up for Fusion production.

Of course this would not affect cars in the pipeline or at dealers...

Glad to see the Camaro still leading the sales numbers. Hope that trend continues when the 2014 Camaros come out.

I traded my 010 SIM M6 SS/RS in for an 013 IOM M6 ZL1. There was no chance I was going to purchase the 2014. Can't stand the refresh, tail end is hideous !

The ZL1 is a DREAM ! More on her later, Oh BABY !!

i went to dealer yesterday to see one 2014 they had, LS. i looking at 2014 coupe, verts, and maybe consider a 13 vert, all LT. no SS, and no RS packages. anyway, i saw the tail lites, and the front grill, they reversed the width on top and bottom. frankly, i dont see a big deal one way or the other. the rest of car is the same. I not looking at LS, but at least the cheap wheels are gone on the 14. i like the polished 19 wheels, with all season. anyway, is the 13 tail lites, look nicer? probably. the new vette has the same lites as 13 camaro. the front again, not a big deal one way or other to me. still like the car, and i think will sell well in 14. i may order 14 if i dont see a 13 vert i like. no 13 coupe out there i want.

dats wassup keep us on top... i think dats the reason sales spiked for the 13s cuz alot of people like the 13 look over the 14 but 14 tail lights have grown on me but i dnt like the smaller grille so 10-13s jus look better but im anxious to see how sales for the 14 will turn out i hope the refresh doesnt cause mustang to beat us
