Low Dyno numbers

Dynoed today. Numbers seem low for what has been posted here. Mods are Roto-Fab CAI, Big Gulp, mild to wild, RX catch can. 2013 A-6, stock tune. What do you guys think.

462/471 is almost exactly what mine made stock...469/471. Close enough not to worry something is wrong...it is fine.

Dude, these dynos very so much. I've dyno'd the 1le I had 4 days apart and had a 40 hp difference with no changes to the car.

Sometime the easiest and cheapest hp is a more generous dyno!

Yes, and a before and after would've been a better measure.

It will prob drop your hp a little more, but most people use SAE with 5 smoothing. But as others said, comparing dynos is apples to oranges. I have used 2 diff dynos...I make 50rwhp more on one over the other.

Hola! Good to have another member here from PR. I also have a ZL1, and have a lot of friends who also have ZL1's and CTSV's. My tuner can help you with that. Give me a call at 7874082988. BTW my ZL1 is putting down 670whp so he knows what he's doing...

yea, those numbers are what I ran stock. After a CAI and tune I put down 520. I would think you'd be higher than that with a CAI on there.

It's possible that your car is using the low octane tables. Do a search on how to do the fuse pull or just disconnect the car's battery for a night and hook it back up in the morning. After put it back on the dyno and report the new numbers so we know whether or not that was it. If so then make sure that for now on you only use the manufactures recommended octane level or higher. Optionally you could also just get the car tuned as a CAI will make your car run a little lean regardless. A tune would correct that as well.

well the only performance mod you have is the cold air intake, catch can and mild to wild and the other thing do absolutely nothing for your dyno numbers that's one. Second of all your AFR does NOT look right, the cold air intake leaned the shit out of your car and as a result is probably detonating and shifting to the low-octane table. The ECU shifts gradually to the low octane table based on knock retard and then will also gradually shift back to the high octane table based on time assuming there was no knock retard.

Also your numbers are not SAE corrected, not sure if that would increase or decrease your numbers but its also worth looking at.

Bottom line here is, you need a tune or you risk messing up your car and make sure youre hitting redline on the dyno because that's where you will make peak hp.

They might be lean because his Rx catch can is leaking around the fittings on top of the can.

several have had this issue. you can check your can with a vacuum pump. Just plug all but one port and hook the pump to the open one and see if it bleeds down. It should not have any leaks. If it does it will lead to a vacuum leak that will through off your AFR.

I had this issue with mine but used a urethane adhesive around the necks to seal it up. Tried Teflon and O-rings and nothing worked till I did the urethane.

11.5 afr is what you should see with a slight deep at the end to the 10s. That intake youre using is very good but requires a tune to run correctly send me a PM i can help you im in PR
