Noisy shifter help

I'm getting a noisy rattling sound and vibration on my hurst shifter, no doubt from the shifter grinding on the side underneath. It seems worse in 3rd, anybody have any ideas on how to stop the grinding vibration? Thanks

My bolts that hold the shifter to the lower unit came loose. Used blue lock tite. No more noise.

We are sorry to hear about your issue, you should not be experiencing any noisy rattling or excessive vibrations with the shifter. Give us a call at 707-544-4761 and we can see what we can do.

Thanks for monitoring the forum Hurst!
I keep coming back to forum searching for updates on this topic for solutions other than replacing with another aftermarket solution. I the love short shift but the rattle (and stiffness) have me on the verge of making a change of brand. I will give you a call.

We are here to help, and as we strive for customer satisfaction, we always recommend giving us a call any time you are experiencing an issue. While a minor increase in stiffness and NVH is expected when installing any short shift kit, it should not be excessive.

Not only is the service great, so are the products. I love my short throw shifter. Haven't got any noise at all from mine.

Mine rattles too but only under hard acceleration. Heard it’s pretty common with these so I don’t worry about it. I haven’t gotten around to installing their pit pack bushings for mine yet it’s been in my tool box for a couple years now lol

Yea mine rattles at certain RPM's, but I was admittedly too lazy to put on the sound deadening stuff they sent in the package. After a couple hours of trying to get those bolts back in the trans tunnel I just decided the hell with it.

Honestly as it ages it rattles less or maybe my car is so loud I don't hear it at the RPM's it would rattle lol
