Arrow Chantilly Lace.....[COTW 10/31/11]

While at the dealer ship, the delivery truck pulled up, and unloaded several Camaro's, and amongst them was a RJT whom Reliable Chevy was claiming was the 1st 2011 in the State. We bought her with 4 miles on the clock, and didn't allow the dealership to clean her, as I had my son do it, he is a detailer whom uses Adams polish products...

On that drive home, on came the radio and tuned to our favorite station..XM5 fifties on five.... and Chantilly Lace was playing, sung by JP Richardson, AKA the Big Bopper.....and I knew in my heart, That Chantilly chose her name..

Here she is on the day we bought her after a detail, what skinny tires..

the new car window sticker can be seen in this image:

Chantilly needed some new shoes, as I wasn't really feeling the stockers...
I wanted something that could get alot of rubber under the car, be lightweight, and not spend a fortune....

Tony (nineball) was contacted, as I have followed this cat around for many years around various forums..... He sent me his own personal set of Forgestar F14's already mounted and ready to go..

Chantilly now had her 2nd mod, 275's in the front and fat 315's in the rear...
but something wasn't quite right, as Chantilly's frontend was to high...

I have had many muscle cars, and grew up in a era when the pro street look was cool, which in my neighborhood, meant the nose in the weeds and the ass end up high... in other words, Old school Rake....

The boys at Loud Pedal in Arizona were contacted for a solution..

Those hepcats put some Pedders love on Chantilly, gave us the shop tour, treated us tremendous, took us to a popular shopping mall/outlet/center, and picked us up when Chantilly was ready...

A nice and clean shop...

We arrived in the AM only to discover that we didn't bring our Gorilla wheel lock key, what a thing to forget after a 7 hr drive... DUH...

Mike at Loud Pedal sent us to a incredible wheel shop to get another, and thanks to him disaster was averted...

I highly recommend these cats...

I love music, it is a big part of my life, and so does Chantilly. I often refer to her as the rolling Rockabilly Jukebox, as I usually listen a 16gig thumbdrive filled with 1950's music....

IAS in Albuquerque was contacted and told to make the stock system sound better. Bryan of IAS in Albuquerque whom is one of the nations top installers gave Chantilly a amp and a nice custom encloser with a 10 inch sub, and then he tuned the system..... And the stock system really started rocking..

the setup was perfect for my needs, the bass isn't overpowering and is perfect for my style of music. The sub, amp and tune really made Chantilly much more enjoyable to drive and I kept the majority of my trunk space...
and that my friends, is what it's all about..

the thrill and pleasure of driving ones Camaro....

Chantilly, you are really rockin girl!

Chantilly being a L99 auto was really lacking in the sound department.. she was taken to a local muffler shop whom removed the center resonator, installed a x pipe and removed the mufflers and used straight pipe..Chantilly got louder but was still lacking in the sound department..

Chantilly was shortly thereafter taken back to IAS for some halos and scanners... Halos purchased from a gentleman localy and the scanners and lighted rear bowtie via Ivan of southwest speed whom delivered them in person, and also installed red footwell lighting on Chantilly...
Bryan Piper did the install of the Halos and Scanners and lighted bowtie...way cool daddy-o...

Now ever since I bought Chantilly I often complained how underpowered she was, yes I believe a stock Camaro to be very slow, in fact Chantilly was one of the slowest cars I have owned, as she was sitting next to my Twin Turbo GTO, and my 637hp SRT-4 just to mention a few...

so some power mods were done...

Since joining these forums ADM quickly got my attention, as I was drawn to his builds and products.... Andy ran a special around Novemberish 2010 for his
intake and race scoop, which we ordered and installed. The intake was cool and made the car sound louder and mean...but she was still slow..

Then we got the cnc machined throttle body from Ted Jennetty...

Installed that and didn't really notice any improvement, but for the price figured why not...
A local shop named Motiva was running some dyno special, so we took Chantilly and with her few mods made 330ish hp.

This power level really wasn't acceptable to me....I knew at some point in time, something must be done about it....

Some rolling images of Chantilly were in need, my good buddy Josh, photographer extraordinaire whoms work is very top notch was called in to work his magic......these shots are simply stunning, they captured Chantilly and sure showed off her old school rake which comes from Pedders front drop springs, rear springs are stock...

Chantilly was looking pretty, or so I thought...we then went to c5 fest in Phoenix, and I was blown away by the many many beautiful Camaro's, and I realized how plain jane Chantilly Lace really was..... upon coming home I contacted Chris Loyd of Loyd's rides in Albuquerque and asked him to make Chantilly different.. Chris is known for his flame jobs, we gave him input but also defered to his expertise...

he went wacko and did this to my sweet Chantilly...

Me looking at Chantilly, and being very sad, as my girl didn't have her makeup on...

Chris sends these images to our cell phone...
