Water Beads
Hey guys
Just wondering if anyone else has run into the same thing as me...on both Camaros I've owned ('10 sold, '12 current) I feel like the water does not bead well on the hood and flat areas on the body. I know its not the wax because I've used the same procedure and supplies on many different vehicles with spectacular results. My current protection is Collinite number 845 insulator wax. Any thoughts? I'll try to attach some pictures....does anyone know how to upload them from your phone on here? Lol

Collinite 845 is not the problem, that is a wax that is FAMOUS for it's water beading potential!!!
With large, flat surfaces, you can get a lot of dust and contamination that can impeed water beading. Did you clay or prep the surface prior to applying? |

I think most people would agree that you should clay a car even if it has 2 miles on it, brand new. Cars, like mine did, sit in the rail yard for a few days and can accumulate particles on the paint.

Like Todd has mention, you need to wash, clay, any polishing ( if needed ) then top it off with 845.

definitely clay it and throw a good coat or 2 of wax on it, and you will no doubt get the beads you are looking for. I've never had an issue with water failing to bead.
