The rear looks better in these photos than it did in the stills yesterday but I still dislike the lights and the gaping hole for the license plate.

The SS rear does not look good.

Unfortunately from the looks of the wrap around lights, you will not be able to retrofit a '10-'13 SS rear onto it.

Sad.

The shape looks identical. Maybe if you get an SS you will be able to eventually swap for the Z28 tails!?!?!?

My thoughts...Z28 beats SS in the rear styling hands down. Seeing these together makes me really hate the new SS rear. The Z28 tail lights aren't half bad, but those SS tail lights are horrid! And that SS rear diffusor looks like an afterthought...kinda like it isn't finished...ugh!
Is that RS versus non-RS? (edit: +1)

The Z/28 is a 1SS with less than no options and the performance works. It will not be for posers.

I already know I cannot afford nor really want one. And there will only be a limited supply. A halo car without Halos.

It is now clear who the Z/28 is aimed at. Most if not all of those people could not care less what the taillights look like.

Cars look real good, its not the 2010 car but it does not need to be its all grown up and it looks good, remember the 67 and 68 where not the same car and the 69 was not the same as any of the early cars.

You really going to get one? Can even Becky get you one with no ADM? (Edit: Get the A/C, be comfortable driving to the track.)

Actually, I believe you could swap the 10-13 rear onto the 14...note the fenders are the same. The wrap around lights are actually part of the bumper. Not sure about the rear deck though.

So, I've been kind of outta the loop recently.
Logged in today and we got new camaros and a z28 finally.

But oh man, wtf happened to the back end. The Z28 isnt so bad but the SS is horrible and really looks unfinished. The tail lights are really bad, esp the LED version. It just looks so cheap and cheesy I can't stand it.

But I really don't get the thinking behind this.

Current tail lights were liked so much that they influenced the tail light designs of the Malibu and the new corvette. So the logical thing for chevy to do is to completely change them to not be distinctive and toss a healthy layer of cheese on top.

I was really hoping the vette was going to return the favor and any new Camaro tail lights would take design cues from the stingray.
But instead it looks like the back end of the Camaro is trying to slowly morph into a sedan. The crease is gone, the diffuser just looks odd, the license plate area seems too big. Not feeling the spoiler either. Overall seems very flat and uninteresting.

Maybe it's better in person, or if we had better pics and video. So far everything I've seen has been low quality with bad lighting. But it's not looking good to me at all.
