Question about quad tips

First, i would like to apoligize because this thread is probably going to have a stupid question within it.

I have a 2010 camaro v6, i'm going to do quad tips and already ordered the diffuser, i plan on puttig the quad tips on the stock exhaust for now, and then have them put on my mrt v1 once it comes, i checked on the bytehost thing where they sell the quad tips, and they have a bunch of dif measurements, how do i tell which one mine is?

Example: 2.5"in / 4.0"out
$125 + sh in USA

I'm not sure but I would think the mrt and stock would be different sizes

Edit: according to Google the 2.5 is the inlet size for both stock and mrt but I'd wait for the new exhaust so you only have to have the tips welded on once

2.5" in / 4" out is what you want. But yeah, you should wait and have the tips installed the same time you have the mrt installed.

I did the same mod when I had a v6. I installed the diffuser then took it to a muffler shop to have the MRT and dual tips installed. came out nicely. 2.5/4 is what you'll want. i'd wait for the MRT to come in before putting the tips

Ok i won’t do it on the stock then, the 2.5 in and 4” out would also work on the mrt?

That's what everyone else seems to have done...the 2.5 inlet is the most important part, the 4 inch will be the part you see

I see that the mrt has a 3.5” outlet and not 4”, are you positive that it will fit?

Everything I have read says the outlet part is up to you. Pretty much all the search results came up with 4 inch outlets. I am in no way mechanically inclined but I can Google with the best of em

The 3.5" is the diameter of the exhaust tip. The MRT exhaust uses 2.5" piping, so yeah, 2.5" in / 4" out is what you want; if you want smaller tips, then get 3.5" out, but I doubt that's the case haha.

Pretty sure you can't put tips on the stock because the muffler is so close to the original tips... Would have to do more hacking to move the mufflers forward. Waste of time IMO but good luck

I'm thinking of doing this myself here soon. Can I get some recommendations on which tips look best? I see some at AutoZone that look terrible so I'll probably be ordering them online and I want to make sure I get the best looking quad tips.

Maybe I should start my own thread...
