Surge when slowing down at a light?

415 build, Holley Hi-Ram, 103mm tb, 12:7.1 engine gapped for nitrous. Custom Cam with wide LSA for 6500 Altitude and 8500+DA. Car has excellent hp & torque, 3800 stall.
Car surges (between 1200-800)when slowing down to come to a stop and brakes are slightly harder: question is would a vacuum canister help with this problem?

idle

typically, a wider Lsa Idle vacuum is increased, along with idle quality improvements.

As a tighter lsa vacum is reduced and idle quality suffers.

Check for any type vacuum leak, or maybe a slight tune adjustment down low on decell, from fueling, a lot of times I see timing being the cause, or in torque management. But with a wider LSA you should have good vacuum.
