E85 it 85% alcohol and 15% gas. This will cause your seals in your fuel system to swell, and since it collects a lot of moisture you will have problems with rust in your fuel tank and fuel lines. While the octane rating is higher for E85 you will find that your day to day mpg is going to be lower. It burns hotter but is less efficient. I would get 12-14 mpg on E85 and 17-19 on regular gas. The City I work for only used because we got clean air credits and it was good publicity to be "Clean".

Blk13SS made my point, I get 18-19 mpg around town and 24 or so on the highway in my SS.
lol. e85 is fine in these cars. it doesnt hurt plastic, teflon, or viton. every seal in our fuel system is plastic, teflon, or viton. i've had it in my car over three years now... works fine

There are V6s here on the forum that have ran E85 and have shown bigger gains than this V8 showed on E85...but I'm not sure if that is a gas stock tune versus E85 tune, or gas "tuned" tune vs E85 tune. Could be because the V6 is direct injected and the V8 is not.

As said above, the main reason you can't run E85 is because you are not properly tuned for it, but your car could run it.

The E85 V6 cars ran awesome....except when it was cold out they were hard to start so that was a pain in the butt.

Not too many V6 cars running it anymore though, since that was a short lived tune that Trifecta offered. Haven't seen the newer tuning companies offer it.

My car was previously tune on pump 93. And neither did I switch to E for the lower prices, I do it for performance also.

My goal is to try and see how fast I can run the 1/4 being bone stock.

Cold starting issues is the tune not the ethanol. Even my 06 silverado that was flex fuel had no issues starting in -15 degree weather running e85.

e85 is a little misleading, e70 is what it should state.

I don't disagree....but it was something that Trifecta never got worked out properly on the V6.

To say ethanol cold starts as well as gasoline is naive. You can't tune out alcohol not wanting to light. Below freezing it gets grumpy.

Don't you guys have a winter E mix to prevent the gas from freezing? We don't have that winter mix here in Miami because, well it's never cold.

Since your stock I'm assuming your using stock injectors? My cars in pieces right now and if decided to switch to e85 but far as I can tell I'm gonna need ls9 injectors. Somewhere around 500 rwhp right now n/a.

Now try it with a 26x/27x cam and 15:1 compression.
