What a great thread. It has me thinking. (And shopping.) After one track day this year and 2 more booked, now I am starting to think about replacement parts for 2015. No doubt I'm going to use stuff up.

Agreed, Error on the side of caution for sure on this estimate.

I made this list for me personally, I do not run track insurance and I can get OEM ZL1 brake pads for about $260 for the front set. Prices will definitely vary from person to person. Also this list is no where complete, like you said I need tranny fluid, diff fluid, etc.

The last track day I was at my buddy came with his Mini Cooper S. The course was small and very technical, he said he barley touched the brakes for the course. My jaw just dropped because I was on the brakes REALLY hard at the end of the front and back straight along with one or two other spots. He also didn't use much gas, where as I used about a tank and a half!!

I challenge the validity of 60 dollars in fuel for "3.5 hours of balls out racing"

Cost really depends. I can wear out a set of tires in a few hours or a few days... Depends on mood, weather, group around you ability etc.

I add track insurance when i go. Your tires are PSS and brakes are stock you wont waste either in three events. The brakes possibly if you late brake heavy and have a notorious track for beating up brakes. I would look at each as one full season at least at your level, if you get hardcore and start to see more wear then adjust the budget.

I have yet to race mine, and this is almost enough for me to consider building mine strictly for drag.

I'm just doing averages. First track day I used a tank of gas, second track day I used a little under a tank and a half. I'm not counting penny's here, when you're talking about several hundred dollars another $30 or $40 is nothing.

I understand this was a personal list but others may read this and should be informed to what the others cost associated could be as well as what you should expect as you progress in the sport.

Race pads would be a huge advantage. Ask any person here who has done events for a long while. Track pads are key as well as other things when you progress in this addiction.

OK, INSIGHT..........
2013 1le, 10track days, 5- events... 4-5 sessions per day, 20-25 avg each.
fill tank at track after 3 sessions, each day..
Carbotech xp10, done now, after the aforementioned days..
no braking comfort..
Run, PCA/BMW club events, lower $
NASA bigger $, but more track time
RENT A GARAGE FOR $40, RAIN INSURANCE, IT WON'T...

Nice thing is I am 45 mile from NJMP,
add 20 minimum at wawa /conveinience store

It does add up, but you could spend $100 at he 1/4 and drag race for
60 seconds of track time, $1.66 /sec...
so $500 for 2 hours seems like a deal....... $.48/sec.....

Good point, plus even autocross you get maybe 5 minutes of run time after killing a day out on the black top only to zing a cone. $$ per minute or mile may be a better measuring stick

Depends on where you autocross, the event I was at this weekend with USCA in Portland, I ran 23 laps of autocross. Autox does not kill the tires and brakes nearly as quick and little risk of damage to the car...I did the road course for three sessions and that is where the tires took the most abuse and brakes were being used up....but it is hella fun on the road course...
