SNEAK PEAK! 2010 camaro RS V6 gains 33HP and torque with install of BBK headers!

SNEAK PEEK!
I blogged about a video that was slipped to me by my friend at BBK Performance yesterday about their crazy horsepower gains on a V6 2010 Camaro RS simply by tossing out the tiny stock headers and installing their new headers and high flow Cats. 33HP at the wheels and 30 foot pounds of torque gained! The video shows the car on the dyno and the results graphs. That is a lot of horsepower with just less than an hour's worth of work!

you can read my blog (and watch the video) here:

Excellent! Thanks for the video. Might want to move it over to the v6 section, though.

Very interesting.... couple things come to mind...

How will the the high flow cats sound with an aftermarket exhaust?

Will you end up throwing codes?

Definitely keeping an eye on these..

My guess is any state that has adopted the CARB emissions restrictions would not allow these. I believe that is 14 states so far.

None. According to the EPA and the Federal Clean Air Act it is illegal to remove or relocate the cats.

A lot of times when you add long tubes, move the cats, replace the cats you'll trigger a Check Engine Light... Easiest thing is to get a tune which turns off the rear o2 sensors...

Otherwise known as "off road".

Not that we support anything illegal...

But, If you don't have emissions laws in your state you can probably get away with this mod.

FWIW.

For what looks like about 10-20% more torque through most of that graph, I think I can live with that light, lol. Hope this isn't too good to be true (and they're not outrageously expensive, and don't make my car sound like a riceburner).

This is why I'll stick with the shorty headers when they become available. From what I can see, the v-6 cats are the same ones used on the LS3.

If they flow good enough for the v-8, it's good enough for me.

You're right there. On the CTS's they've seen very little power increase from cats or cat-back changes. Other than sound.
Stock flows good.
