Not changing my order but...

I am just curious. I was on Paddock's website this AM just for fun and I see they have 56 Camaros on the lot and not one 1SS. And doing a search on the Chevy build site for my area shows almost 40 2SSs and only four 1SSs. I know the subject has been beaten to death over and over but why such low demand for the 1SS? Seems like alot of people buy the 1LT compared to the 2LT. I guess everyone has more money than me to blow lol. Thank you for listening to my random, beat to death question of the day.
And no Scotty,I have no intentions of calling you to change my order lol.

actually, a lot of people DO want the 1SS, that is why you don't find many, and there are a lot of 2SS's available for the same reason. SO, if you want a 1SS, stick with it.

IMO ................Why is reason everyone is going for the 2SS ?

With the Camaro being gone for so long and the love We have for our beloved Camaro Gm brought back the perfect car all around.

Leather interior
4pack guages for the retro look
and of course you know the rest............

Those 2 features helped the older crowd who always wanted a 69 or has a 69 make there decision
As for me ? I own a 69 Camaro im young and want something close enough to my 69 that I can drive daily but at the same time have the luxery of having a NEW and great powerful handleing machine.

It's mostly a Cockpit to retro 69 look the 2SS gives

people are saying to themself its been so long and now with prices going up yearly lets indulge when we can afford it.

The 2SS is more profitable so the dealer's order them. If the only difference was the leather interior, more 1SS's would be ordered and sold. I'm only interested in the 1SS, because I find the seats more comfortable.

I think it's just the way it's bundled. Since all the options are bundled together, if you really want one thing, the only way to get it is to pay for everything. In my case I really wanted leather seats and the convenience/connectivity package. I did not care in the slightest about heated seats, heated side mirrors, home connect, etc etc but I had to get the 2SS to get the 2 options I really wanted.

We are a rare breed. I love my 1SS. I ordered what I wanted and that included cloth seats, I did not want leather. To each his own.

I believe someone posted a reasoning like this awhile back. Saying that typically during the first year (or few years) of a new car launch there is an abundance of people going with the higher end models as well as the lower end. There is a significant demand for the 'middle tier' models.

Where did you get that info from? B/C it's woefully incorrect.

Here are two Super Sport Camaros picked at random.

2010 CHEVROLET Camaro: 1SS Coupe
MSRP w/ DFC†: $34,115.00
Invoice w/ DFC†:$32,749.14
HB $997.95

$1,366 profit plus $997 holdback = $2,363

2010 CHEVROLET Camaro: 2SS Coupe
MSRP w/ DFC†: $37,920.00
Invoice w/ DFC†: $36,727.26
H/B $1,112.10

$1,193 profit plus $1,112 holdback = $2,305

The 1SS more profitable in this case, but usually there is nary a difference in profit between the two. The reason dealers tend to order 2SS more than 1SS is b/c the 2SS outsells the 1SS 10 to 1.

I don't like feeling like I did not get something. Once your spending SS money..what you get going to 2SS is worth it IMO.

Probably is a combo of these.

Eventually, the V6s will take over as the most sold. The car has been gone so long that all of the enthusiasts are buying. I bet in another year, the V6 will outsell 2 to 1.

Ok, maybe not quite double but you see my point. Plus, the economy ain't recovering very soon.

The way I see it.

1LS/1Lt - budget car for those who want one but have to make sacrifices to get it
2LT - middle of the road car for those who want all the features, better MPG and aren't as concerned with the lower power of the engine (think people who don't race theirs)
1SS - budget power car for those who want the cheapest way to get the most powerful version, don't care about the luxury features as much
2SS - top of the line car for those that want all the power and all the features

I also agree that for now the 2SS is at the top basically due to all the enthusuasts ordering them. Once they are gone and the 2SS stops flying of the lot dealers are going to order more 1LS/1LS/2LT cars for the walkin average person. Right now the majority of Camaro's are order cars not lot cars. This will change probably mid this year.

I agree. I chose the 1SS over the 2SS because I really didn't need most of the features that the 2SS offers. Bluetooth and USB connection, I'd never use it. Leather seats, they would get hot as hell where I live. I really don't care if my car doesn't have the 4 gauges. Although I added the Boston Acoustics to my 1SS. I just want the performance.

Their local main competitor, Joe Basil Chevrolet has 21 on the lot and 7 of 10 still at SLP getting modded. They actually have a good variety in stock IMO.

(1) 1LS
(6) 1LT
(3) 2LT
(4) 1SS
(4) 2SS

^^^ at $500 over invoice max

(3) 2SS SLP

^^^ ummmmmm 10k over sticker...
