I don't see the point. I wouldn't take the financial hit of selling the ZL1. You've essentially got a supercharged 1LE, and as a side-benefit you get the magnetic shocks which we can't get. Why not just turbo the Z?

My thought it will be a downgrade. Why do you want to do this for?
Take the supercharger out and put a turbo in.

ZL1 is a great car, that said, the 14 1LE is very nice too so if you're after the new front and tail go for the 1LE. Just make sure to get the Recaro's too !

Stupid move IMO. ZL1 has the stronger drivetrain. Keep the ZL1 and go for a pulley/tune/ ported snout. Guys are running pretty fast with that. LSA is made for boost, not the LS3.
Go with the 1LE if only you want an all out N/A car Or nitrous.

Pros : Save money, lighter weight. 1LE is $15K to $20 less depending on options 1LE can be up to 300lbs less than a ZL1 Cons: Rear end, Brakes, suspension. This is up to the OP as he didn't mention what the purpose of the car is. If drag racing the brakes will be fine, but the rear end should be upgraded to handle the launch. Without more info from the OP on why he wants to make the change we are all just making assumptions on his needs...

I just went from a 12 zl1 to a 14 ss 1le and now im back in a 14 zl1. The 1le is awesome and handles way better than both of my zl1s. Sadly the lack of power was saddening but still a very fun car and better on fuel. For me I enjoy and use the power way more than the handling so im way happier in my zl1

My 1LE is a blast in the canyon and mountain roads where I live. It has supurb handling and suffecient power for my street consumption.
Havent had a ZL1, but I dont see myself as needing all that extra power per dollar, and I love the light nimble prowness of the 1LE. Would I trade "down" for a 1LE? I dont know. But I am sure at this point I have no reason to trade "up" to a ZL1. |
