The 4-cylinder engine will be offered with an audio system that "amplifies the native sound" of the engine through the stereo, according to GM. |

And you have the option to switch it off through the vehicle settings.

So for the T4, a better sound system should yield at least a 30rwhp gain!

They should give the driver the option of the type of engine sound.
Imagine cranking up the sound of a 747 on takeoff as you leave the light....

Nothing new, my 4-clyinder turbo 2013 and 2015 VW GTI's both had fake noise makers. VW calls it a Soundaktor, a lot of guys unplug it immediately so they can hear the real engine. My 2008 GTI had a sound pipe routed to the fire wall that wasted boost so you could hear the turbo more, I plugged that thing up immediately.

Mustang has it and I believe it is in the current Camaro's, V8 included.
