Tire Question

Since I do not track very much, I am looking to swap out my GYs for something better suited for normal driving. Looking at possibly an all season kind of tire. My question, is anyone running a 275-35-20 on their 1LE vs the 285s? Seems like prices are much better by going to a slightly smaller tire. any issues with doing this?

You will probably have trouble streching the 275 onto the 11" wheels in the back. If your not tracking have you looked into the ZL1 sizes. are they any cheaper?

Rears are even more for ZL1 sizes unfortunately. Fronts are stock sizes for our cars so no difference in price there.

What about a 285/30/20? Does that change the car much going from 35 to 30?

It could throw off your speedo a little if you go that size.

Likely 2-4 mph or something right? No other concerns? I can live with that easily if that is the only downfall.

Also why not just get this. Now all out performance wont be great but they will last longer and do what you want.

If you want to preserve ride quality do not reduce the side wall or go with a lower profile.

In the 285s Michelin offers and Piolat Sport A/S (all season) for around 400/per.

You can also look at 295/35/20 as there are some other choices. They are only 10mm (3/8") wider and just a hair taller. (Pierelli A/S for $360 on tire rack)

If your G2 are in good shape they should be an easy sell to offset part of the cost.

I run the standard stock SS set up for daily driving.
