Finally removed the engine. This gave me the chance to button up the shock tower. Had to clearance to make room for the volute. Ready for some paint!
I also made some progress on the dual stage nitrous system. Sheffield Race Cars Facebook Page. Become a fan today! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sheff...00411350044603 |

Did you need to move the blower over a lot compared to the original brackets ?
Is it really massive compared to the YSi ? |

Yes it is massive compared to the YSi... Basically you either need to bring blower out or have to start notching valve covers and still may need to bring it out. The massive 6" volute does not help the fitment situation either as you can see Craig brought the strut tower inboard to allow for the volute to be used. Craig @ Sheffield Race Cars handled all the fabrication, so he's definitely a better person to ask about it than me. |

There are only a handful of the XB series out there in the 105 and 110. First one on a Camaro, a guy over on Corvetteforum has a XB110 mocked up on A&A brackets, but I do not know where that project is.
Here are the XB110 specs. Max Speed: 65000 RPM Max Boost: 35 PSI Max Flow: 3100 CFM Max Power: 1900 HP ---------------------- YSi Max Speed:65000 RPM Max Boost:30 PSI Max Flow:1600 CFM Max Power:1200 HP ---------------------- And here is the Procharger F-1X which has become a large player in the race market over the last year+ it has been available. The HP rating in my opinion is a little light, as I have seen it make more. Max Speed: 72000 RPM Max Boost: 38 PSI Max Flow: 2000 CFM Max Power: 1300 HP --------------- |

Dont think the XB on Vetteforum ever went anywhere, it just wasnt going to fit without massive work.

Well the XB110 fits, so does the dual stage nitrous plumbed in by Craig @ Sheffield. Also our buddy decided he did not want to see any wiring in front of his motor or on the sides. So he stripped the entire body harness to only necessities (Headlights, turn signals, fog lamps), soldered extensions (42 of them), and ran it through the fender rail so it doesnt even go over the strut tower. Now the OEM fuse box, OEM ecu, and Haltech ECU is all in passenger cabin. The entire motor harness now routes behind the motor, with individual harnesses for coil packs, injectors and nitrous. So need to take out motor there is a few pack connectors to remove, and drop that thing out, VERY modular.
New additions are Meziere Electric Water Pump and the GZ Motorsports Super Pro vacuum pump kit with modified bracket by SRC. Motor is final installed, Century TH400 trans w/ Reid Case, Neal Chance NXS Converter (Yes this is the blower converter you want in any high HP car), DSS Carbon Fiber Shaft and DSS 33 spline stubs/hubs into a Wavetrac. Still an uphill battle, wheels should be back from machine any day now. |
