2010 SS but looking to do non Brembo rotors/brakes

So, I am hesitant on spending $1000 just on Brembo rotors when I can go with R1 and do rotors AND brakes for almost half that. Anyone abandon Brembo when doing new brakes/rotors on their SS? Any recommendations? Looking at R1 Concepts for rotors and Hawk for pads.

I did Power Stop 1-Click Street Warrior Z26 Brake Kit and Stop Tech SS lines from Steve at RDP, great price, very happy with set up.

Tire Rack.... a pair is $450 so I rounded up plus cost of the brakes. If you have a cheaper source for Brembo I'll take a look there but everything I find it'll cost over $1k for a complete brake job.

Uh, my 4 OEM rotors and brake pads were ~ $640 with shipping from GM Parts Direct. You sure you weren't looking at some fancy upgraded rotors?
