Upgraded your cam in your LS3? What are your specs? Happy?
I know I have started a few cam threads but know that I have an idea of what I want (maybe) and have alittle more understanding on how to read cam specs I thought I would ask you LS3 people what cams you switched to and your reviews on them. I need to decide soon on what I want.
I think I will forgo the low end torque thought and go with something that works through the whole power band. I NEED that bad ass cam sound (without surging if possible).

The bummer is that the bigger bad-ass cam sound comes with the lower RPM surging.
I had a 227/235 .614/.621 112+2 cam that had an absolutely wicked sound and didn't surge bad. However, it raised hell in my valvetrain. If you're getting a big cam I REALLY recommend Harland Sharp modified rockers. Great cheap insurance (plus they're light in weight and will support tons of power). After that cam I switched to a cam with longer duration and a little less lift. It still gives the wicked sound/good power and plays nicer with the valvetrain. It's 238/248 with 114LSA. There are guys on here that can hook you up with a grind that perfectly meets the mods you have. There's also a guy on LS1Tech named PatrickG that does custom recommendations for like $50. |

I have the TSP 229/236 with their complete exhaust. It drives nice for the most part. There's a little surging on decelaration or very low rpm, <1500. It definitely sounds mean when it idles. Car is very fun and I've never once thought, gee, I should have got a bigger cam.
